Lord, may our homes and lives be filled with your love!
Since watching the movie, "Enchanted", it has been a joke in our family with my youngest about who is the love of her life. Of course, I have been enjoying that top spot, and I have been milking it and even gloating over the fact that I am the one! The truth is that I don't want to be the love of her life. I want her to experience true love that only comes from God, who is love. I want her to experience the reality of a relationship with Him. I want God to be the love of her life!
I know that since I have experienced the true love of God, I have been inspired and encouraged to keep going through tough times and to help others. I have been inspired to be patient with others who haven't finished their journeys through pain or even their journeys to God.
1 John 4:16 states "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him."
How do we know that we have found true love? Since I have learned that the word "is" is the same as the word "equals" in math, God "equals" love:
"God is patient, God is kind. He does not envy, He does not boast, He is not proud. He is not rude, He is not self-seeking, He is not easily angered, He keeps no record of wrongs. God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. God always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (paraphrase of 1 Cor. 13:4-7)
Be reminded that God is the love of your life!
