Power of Friends' Prayers

I have personally had a physically and emotionally draining week. Our school week was just fine and all planned out after the long holiday break. But, suddenly, out of nowhere, my husband and I found ourselves in the midst of a serious business situation. It had to take lots of our time in measuring our words, examining our responses, and reviewing our faults. It was a situation that required lots of prayer.

But, have you ever had a situation that you knew you needed others to help you in praying? You knew that you could not handle it alone? It was like that for me. I have learned to get over my pride or even just my fear of "bugging" someone. There are some situations that require the prayer support of friends.

We did survive this past week, and the business situation has been resolved positively (though we do ask for any additional prayers you all can give). I really don't think it would have happened through just the prayers and the strength of my husband and me. I really think it was the prayers and thoughts of others that kept me strong and most of all feeling supported and encouraged.

As our church enters a time of fasting, there may be events or situations that come up in your life that seem unbearable or insurmountable. Of course, look to God, but also find the support and encouragement in the godly friends around you!

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12

P.S. Don't forget to review and use our Prayer List on the Resource Forum. After you log in, you can see this list and even sign up for email notices when it is updated.
