God is...

Last week I discussed commitment, and later this week, I realized that many of us will not commit or give control to someone we don't know. It is important to know in whom you trust.

So, who is God? Our pastor challenged us to embark on a discovery of the many answers to this question. So, I challenge you to answer by commenting here - who is God to you today?

Paul writes to Timothy: "...I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day." If you do not know Him, you really aren't able to fully entrust or commit your plans to Him. My prayer is that you will come to know Him and that you will be convinced that you can trust Him!

God is my rock and my strength. He wraps his loving arms around me and my family when we need encouragement. God is my protector from all evil. He is my best friend, whom I can confide in with absolutely any thoughts or feelings. God is most of all who taught me what TRUE love is. One can not know real love without first knowing Him. God is my everything, my biggest blessing. (Sorry for any grammar errors. I'm on the treadmill. LOL!) Thanks Kristy, this was a great question to ponder on at the beginning of my week.:)

God is personal. He cares about every little detail of who I am and what I am doing. He even cares about the intimate desires of my heart. I love to see Him pop up in my daily activities, in a brief conversation, or in a moment of need.

I love your realization "we will not commit or give control to someone we don't know." WOW! Now I understand the 'why' that causes some to control their faith walk (I know we've all been at this doorway of 'do we really trust Him or not' and have fallen short, at least I have.). That is a HUGE truth! We never give control to someone we don't know or trust or someone we think is reasonable to trust. Hmmm.... this has me really thinking! GREAT point! Yay God for disclosing this obvious mystery.

God is the "I AM' to me which means He is quick to be the "I AM" able in the areas I am not able (if/when I finally take my hands off and give Him room to make all things work together for my good). I agree with Emily and Kristy's answers too. Well said!
