Monday's Prayer

Lord, help us to live in Your freedom!

Last week our pastor encouraged us to find our life "song" or message. I discovered one of my main "messages" is freedom. Even though I had grown up in an environment that promoted a relationship with God, at a young age I began to base my Christian witness on the things I didn't do - I didn't drink, didn't smoke, didn't dress inappropriately, didn't pierce or tattoo anything, didn't use foul language, didn't go to wild parties, etc... My relationship with God was based on mainly on my actions, not on my heart.

God brought me to a place of realization that He was interested in ME, not the things I did for His sake. This brought much freedom to my heart and my life. I became less judgmental and more focused on getting to know God. I want you to know that as I have become more intimate with God, I have found that I am not burdened by the things that I failed to do or not do. I have found a freedom that comes in living in His grace, mercy and love.

May you discover the true freedom of living a life with God! "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32
